Grief Ritual

You are invited to participate in a Sacred Grief Ritual in Ojai.
It is a ceremony of African lineage and was passed down from the tribes of Africa to Meladoma Somai to Francis Weller to Richard Palmer and Steve Fox of the Men of Spirit of Ojai,  to Teresa Jayne.
It is a beautiful and profound way to either grieve with the community holding you, or to hold the space for your community to grieve, or both. It could be for any loss – the death of a loved one, the end of a relationship, the loss of a job or home, etc. It is open to anyone who wants to grieve in community.
Experience the love and connection of letting go of grief and opening to the profound joy that is on the other side of that expression.

When: It will be held on Saturday September 6, 2014

Where: The Full Circle Farm in Ojai.

Directions: From downtown Ojai drive 6 1/2 miles to the upper Ojai. Turn left at The Ojai Foundation sign. Make an immediate right on frontage road and park in the cul-de-sac.

Participants should arrive between 4 and 6pm. The ceremony will begin at dusk  and end when everyone is finished. Please arrive by 7pm at the latest so you can slow down and be fully present to receive explanation and instruction about the ceremony. Please come prepared to stay until the end (around 11pm) as leaving early disrupts the energy. We encourage you to come early to help create the shrine and build the fire.

There will be a pot luck dinner afterward, so bring a yummy dish to share.

Donations will be gratefully received to help pay for firewood, use of the land, septic system etc.

We encourage you to attend with a friend for the safety and fun of driving home together after a profound experience.

Please let us know you are coming so we can prepare a space for you.
You can contact me by phone, text or email.
